In his welcome address at the 2021 Conferment of Academic and Honorary Doctoral Degree/Professional Induction, Professor John Kersey, President of EAU, emphasized the university’s commitment to honoring distinguished personalities who have achieved excellence in their respective fields.
He explained that EAU was created as a selective private university on a federal model, connecting campuses worldwide primarily through internet-based technology. Unlike traditional institutions built on brick-and-mortar operations, EAU was designed entirely around the concept of a virtual network, reducing costs and increasing flexibility.
Professor Kersey noted that because EAU is structured flexibly, it offers:
- Bespoke educational programs tailored to individual needs rather than mass education.
- Lower costs due to reduced operational overheads, making EAU highly competitive globally.
Since enrolling its first students in 2007, EAU has supported hundreds of graduates to improve their life chances and gain academic recognition for their achievements without compromising its founding vision of independence from government control.
The President highlighted that the university is particularly suited for mature, experienced professionals seeking to leverage their competencies to gain academic qualifications, thereby enhancing their career prospects.
